Enter the EIT  Food Venture Summit Impact  Competition!

We are bringing together the brightest, best minds in the agrifood tech world and the future game-changers of the food sector from all over Europe at our upcoming EIT Food Venture Summit happening on 27 October 2022 in Lisbon, Portugal!

 

This year we are inviting all EIT Food startups to enter our Impact Competition

Competition Details

 

 How it works

A total of 3-5 start-ups for each of EIT Food’s 3 missions will be selected and granted the opportunity to pitch on stage at this year’s 2022 Venture Summit.

The audience will then select the startup deemed to have the greatest impact potential, when at scale.

Mission 1 – Healthier lives through food

Mission 2 – Net-zero food system

Mission 3 – A fully transparent, resilient, and fair food system

Prize

The prize for the 3 winners (1 per category) is:

    • A series of articles and press releases written and distributed by EIT Food through its various channels and those of partners
    • An invitation to pitch in front of the EU impact investors at the EVPA Impact Week on Nov 30 – Dec 2 in Brussels
  • A professional support equivalent to 5 hours of consultancy from Edible Planet Ventures and its ecosystem of experts. Edible Planet is a systemic platform of actors that aims to create impact, shift and transform the food system through events, consulting and funding opportunities globally.

Competition Criteria

Your innovation should impact in at least one of the following terms:

Sustainability matrix (sourcing, production, efficiencies etc.)

Gender Equality Diversity & Inclusion

CO2 reductions and credits

Regenerative Business models

SDGs (please list all the SDGs you aim to impact)

 

Competition Eligibility

Eligible start-ups must be part of the EIT Food´s SeedBed, EIT Food Accelerator Network or RisingFoodStars 2022 cohorts, or be an alumnus of the above programmes from the 2021 and 2020 cohorts. It also includes the start-ups that have been beneficiaries of the CV19 Bridge Fund in 2020

 

Admission Criteria

Participation is free of charge and all applications must be submitted in English

The applications will be submitted to an initial screening phase and will be considered only if complete in all its parts and coherent with the call’s objectives and topics

Only the admissible proposals, following verification of the application, will enter the evaluation process

 

Evaluation & Awards

The evaluation by a jury is focused on selecting the 3-5 start-ups in each category (mission) that will be invited to pitch on stage at the EIT Food Venture Summit. The pitching competition will take place on Oct 27 PM at Estufa Fria Botanical Gardens in Lisbon, Portugal. Selected start-ups are expected to have one representative registered to the EIT Food Venture Summit and available on Oct 27 to pitch on stage.

All admitted proposals with be evaluated by October, 9th.

 All candidates will be informed about the jury’s decisions on the week starting 10th October.

The final winners (one per mission) will be selected after pitching on stage by the very audience of the Venture Summit, i.e. up to 300 selected participants representing agri-foodtech start-ups, corporates and investors from the EU and beyond. The winner in each category (mission) will be the start-up that collects the highest number of votes (1 registered participant = 1 vote)
