Welcome to the EIT Food Accelerator Network in the Munich Hub!

You are working on the tech revolution in agriculture? Then you are at the right hub!

A green tech startup hotspot in an area with rich agricultural heritage – that’s Munich in Bavaria. Germany’s EIT FAN programme is your door opener to leading local and international industry partners, investors, experts, and mentors that will help you to validate your business model and technology. With Munich’s thriving AgTech ecosystem and access to state-of-the-art facilities, the Munich EIT FAN programme is the ideal location to accelerate your solution. Have the chance to work in a vibrant environment in the heart of Munich. The Munich Urban Colab is the place where we work and grow together. The programme is hosted by the Entrepreneurship Center UnternehmerTUM and TU Munich.

Munich Urban Colab in the Creative Quarter. You find the Munich Urban Colab at Freddie-Mercury-Straße 5 in Munich's “Kreativquartier”. Here, UnternehmerTUM and the City of Munich join forces under one roof to facilitate new forms of collaboration between start-ups, established companies, science, talented individuals, creatives, and artists from various industries and disciplines.

Orbem’s AI-driven imaging method GENUS makes it possible to determine the fertility and sex of poultry embryos still in the egg. The startup, part of the 2019 EIT FAN, has raised well over 1M € in public grants and prize money since the start of the programme to turn its vision into reality.
Similar to the journey a founder experiences, it is tough to climb up to the peak, but the view from there is worth the hard work 🌄 We invited our EIT Food Accelerator Network Munich Hub start-ups to an Offsite event in the Alps near Munich. Our hiking adventure was the best opportunity for our Munich EIT Food community to meet and connect in person. We had such a great time hiking from Schliersee to Tegernsee while pitching and exchanging insights among the founders!

“We gained more valuable industrial contact for new pilot projects and potential customers. Furthermore, we are now able to work on prototypes for new products with the German institute for food technology. All in all, we went one step further growing our business.”

Julia Piechotta, Co-Founder of Spoontainable, Participant 2020

“EIT FAN Germany hosted by XPRENEURS not only provided the opportunity to network with fellow entrepreneurs and partners, but also gave us access to office space, the makerspace and a prototyping grant, which clearly helped us moving forward. Looking backwards, I can highly recommend being part of EIT FAN Germany at XPRENEURS.”

Pedro Gómez, Co-Founder of Orbem, Participant & Judge

“This has been a start-up changing experience for us. The input from countless entrepreneurs, investors and coaches have helped us to align and structure our early-stage start-up.”

Ruben Props, Co-Founder at KYTOS
